The universe looks pretty solid, existentially speaking, but by all indications it's pretty much indifferent to what we might think But we, in turn, mostly don't like to think about that. As to the meaningfulness of it, I think Trin Tragula might have had perhaps a little more solid perspective on the matter. To Trin Tragula's horror, the shock completely annihilated her brain; but to his satisfaction he realized that he had proved conclusively that if life is going to exist in a Universe of this size, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion. pcbo.dcs.aber.ac.uk
