Oh, so you think Cisco is going to roll over because Victor Lazlo says it's going to roll over.

I think it all depends on your time horizon. My time horizon is long enough to watch Cisco have an enterprise value of 1 trillion dollars.

Glad to hear you profited from Cisco. Do I know more about CSCO's order hopper than Chambers? Absolutely not. Then again, I don't recall claiming such knowledge--or for that matter even implying such! Additionally, it is one thing to soberly subscribe to a negative view of a company, and something else entirely to become so negative and jaded as to miss the forest for the trees.

Sure there are lots of problems with CSCO right now, visibility and writedowns being chief among them. However, reasonable intelligent investors can arrive at differing views of a company as an investment opportunity, especially if the timeframes of interest also differ. Nobody knows for sure, but I like the upside potential 2-3 years out at current levels. In my estimation, the upside/downside ratio for that time frame is far greater than 1. I like those odds for now, at least in my IRA I do. Good luck!

I'll answer you Victor. I think Chambers got caught in the trap of getting to exuberant last November when Cisco grew at a 66% clip. Then he fell flat on his face a quarter later, when sales had dropped off a cliff. So as all roller coaster go, he is now going to the other extreme. From crazed optimist, to down in the dolldrums pessimist, he is preparing the analysts and the company for the worst, but hoping for the best. So if there are any surprises in the future, they will be to the upside. That's why he is continuing with the no visibility story.
