Some interesting strength in a few of my holdings amidst the weakness today. Must be something going on with GLIA - this move is much too big to be accounted for by the European regulatory development. Maybe another takeover in the offing, or possibly they have the FDA happier or maybe they are partnering (or selling) their H3 antagonists. (I still have a few shares that weren't worth selling at the bottom).

TELK has also been strong of late. Maybe ASCO related?

SCIO benefits from the Actelion failure today.

Why CALP and QTRN are each up about 10% today I have no idea.

Peter

I understand your concern Peter, but I think the chance of approval is more than 50/50. The Lupus Dr's basically said it isn't a great drug, but it's all they have right now so they want approval. Even a lowering of steroids without additional efficacy would be an improvement for these patients so I think the FDA will probably go for it.

In addition, I think the FDA wants to take DHEA off of over the counter, they have their own motivation for approval. I know some local health stores won't carry it for ethical reasons and my own physician said I should try it, but to be careful of the dosage. I don't think I would use it without my DR's ok.

Still, from the painful lessons I've learned lately, I will probably sell part around $4.50 and let the profit ride.

Maybe move into ARDM? Been watching it for a while.

The following questions showed up on a Yahoo board. There's probably a far better chance of getting a serious answer here.

(((Can you say exactly who makes the final decision on an NDA? I keep reading that "the FDA" weighs the advisory panel recommendations and then decides -- but who exactly? How many are involved? The FDA is a huge bureaucracy. ... Is it true, as someone posted, that there was a straw poll showing 6-2 for Aslera? Is that unusual? Are approval recommendations normally unanimous? Thanks for any serious replies based on knowledge, not guesswork.)))
