Right, they usually toss in you think or he won't. Like they can read minds or see the future. No idea of the bigger picture.

that we are all either rednecks

Check out this use of stereotype in the service of fear mongering.

Do we really want more of them around?

So you're watching a game at the Metrodome next fall, and the guy next to you is downing his fourth beer of the first half. You can just tell he's not your sort of fellow, but you don't know the half of it: He's got two DWIs on his record and a history of barroom dust-ups.

When he lived up north a few years back, he was convicted of shoving his son's teacher, shouting obscenities on a street corner, kicking a cop and pointing a gun at his neighbor. He's also notoriously nasty to his wife -- though his many arrests for knocking her around have never led to a conviction.

You don't know any of this, of course, and perhaps you'd rather not. But there's something else you don't know about your less-than-charming seatmate: He's carrying a loaded gun. He's carrying it legally -- because nothing he's done was terrible enough or recent enough to keep him from qualifying for a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Hey, outstate rednecks don't buy their paper anyway. But, imagine if they had added just one word. Changes nothing about the tenor of the argument but it graphically demonstrates how truly evil this editorial is and how low the liberal press is willing to go to manipulate public opinion on issues they care about:

So you're watching a game at the Metrodome next fall, and the [BLACK] guy next to you is downing his fourth beer of the first half. You can just tell he's not your sort of fellow, but you don't know the half of it: He's got two DWIs on his record and a history of barroom dust-ups.

"that we are all either rednecks or born with silver spoons in our mouth"

It is true that two of my brothers, who are Republicans are rednecks, but my two Republican sisters would hardly be considered redneck, nor would their husbands. As for being born with a silver spoon in their mouths, hardly. What my two sister do have in common is a strong religious conviction.

For the record, I am not a Democrat, nor a Republican. I do not know whether I am a Liberal, because I have never really understood what this term means. I have however figured out that Conservative means maintaining the status quo. So I know I am not a Conservative.
