It looks like the corporate acceptance of P4 is poor anyway. It makes sense for Intel to target P4 to retail where MHz sells and performance is not well understood.

Virtually all P4s that have been manufactured in the last six months are sitting in an Intel warehouse somewhere. They can flood the market by simply dropping prices without even denting new capacity.
