Have you done any DD on exactly where an Iridium phone can now be legally used?

I don't buy this "truly global" mantra at the new Irid home web site. Even old Iridium was not licensed in quite a few places, and it had active GWs in Russia, China and India, and lawyers/local reps in about a hundred other countries, which new Iridium, to my knowledge, does not.

Many countries will not license a system that bypasses the local PTT, because they want to be able to do lawful intercept, to protect the local companies, and/or collect taxes/fees.

I doubt that "new" Iridium has changed that mentality over night.
