As people in areas with much more successful carpool lanes have found out, the limited capacity of a carpool lane gets filled quickly with only a very small increase in carpooling. The speed of a carpool lane slows to a level of the rest of the highway, and actually begins to serve as a deterrent rather than an inventive. That incentive is a very small bandaid that does nothing to solve the problem. OK, thread, I quit.
