Comb & thread, another Intel paper launch? I just checked the company newstickers from DELL, GTW, CPQ, IBM and HWP and didn't see any announcements. You can configure a 1.7 GHz P4 on Dell's homepage but I didn't find the option on neither Compaq's nor IBM's homepage. So it looks like that this launch is even worse than the 1.13 GHz PIII launch.

"Actually it seems to be very much like the 1.13GHz launch. So what you might be seeing is a low volume, desperation launch..."

You got it and INTC seems on its way to test that 52 week low of $22.25 in the next while...Probably get crossover in the interim as AMD just keeps encroaching on INTC sacred territory. The NEC server is "just a shot across the bow" signalling the beging of server margin declines for INTC. INTC's mobile margins will implode once the pony mobile arrives. Desparate times at the "old castle".
