HI mark - they have elevators where you live now? At least you can attribute your stupidity to adolescence. My most moronic activities (not counting M80's and using cans of spray paint as flame throwers) have taken place after college.

Like the night after watching "Red River" for the first time. Late at night, I'd had a few beers, unfortunately not enough to make me sleepy enough to go to bed. At the time I lived at the side of a lake which had frozen over, so I decided to skate across and have another beer at a bar on the other side. I'd been out earlier and seen cars driving on the ice so I knew the lake was frozen solid.

It was a beautiful night - I was all alone, shaking in the full moon, with the lights of the bar not far away. Then I heard an ominous cracking sound and realized that the ice was not quite as thick as I'd thought. Middle of the lake, and all of a sudden I'd broken thru the surface and my legs were in the water. Now that was scary.
