That reminds me, I went to the Titanic exhibit this weekend in Seattle. Hard to believe a captain would go pedal to the metal, at night, through an ice field, with lookouts who didn't even have binoculars (misplaced in the scramble to get out of port). Can't quite figure out why that image popped into my head all of a sudden...

Well folks I am doing my best to support the economy.
I bought a P4 with 256M PC800 RDRAM.

This PC is dead or dieing and quickly. I have rebooted at least 15 times today.
I do not think it is a viris cause I just downloaded MCaffee and have run virus check.

Here are my symptoms.
Intermittent lockups - mouse goes absolutely crazy bounces all over the screen wildly and I can not control it. Just goes buy itself touching stuff and I freeze.

I keep getting messages "Unable to write to drive D: data may be lost".
I wonder what is writing to D, but I have come to the conclusion - nothing. My drive has been making very loud clicking noises lately and I think this is the cause of both problems when many program I run on drive D become unreadable. Any thoughts on this. I am running ME and some of theis did not happen until then, but my disk drive has been making noises for sometime. Any thoughts. Anyone experienced at transferring registry data so I do not have to reload all my software? Have a ethernet connection between my PCs.

M
