Dale - Re:"it will definitely be a game of leapfrog. AMD claims the 1.5 GHz Palomino will ship at the end of this quarter, which means for all practical purposes, the 1.5 GHz Palomino and 2.0 GHz P4 will ship at the same time."

1.5 Ghz DOES NOT EQUAL 2.0 Ghz. Trying to argue that the two are equal will never work in the marketplace.

Remember when first Cyrix and then AMD had the infamous P ratings to show that slower equaled faster? It didn't work then and it won't work now.

Cyrix and AMD even used benchmarks to show that the lesser equaled the greater. The benchmarks were based on old processor features and avoided using new technology they didn't have. They tested pretty well on those benchmarks too, but the charade failed. People scorned the attempted distortion.
