We go to see doctors when we are unwell. To make your statistics meaningful you would need to mention how many people's lives are saved by doctors in comparison with the 120,00 accidental deaths. And then, how many lives are saved versus how many are taken with handguns. It is the beneficial use versus the negative use that I would be interested in. The data you post is meaningless, to me.

Therefore, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

If your purpose in this statement was to bait X, you apparently had some success. If this is intended to be a conclusion one can logically draw from the data presented, well, the Benton County News Tribune needs to hire professionals.

Your statistic is relevant because it refers to medical malpractice or "accidental death". In Canada the statistic would be many magnitudes higher.

I wonder how many people are saved every day by someone having a handgun at the ready against a burglar or uppity person.
