For it to be really meaningful wouldn't you want to know how many lives doctors save? So you could see the positive versus the negative? The same statistics would be interesting about handguns. Such statistics would be difficult to gather though. In the case of handguns much of the "evidence" would be anecdote, and in the case of healings it is hard to correct for the placebo effect- although if the doctor is the placebo maybe the doctor ought to get credit for that. And using a handgun against an "uppity" person is generally murder.
