It's not.. But the attack on the USS Liberty is a comparable situation to what occurred with the US EP-3 reconaissance plane. The Chinese should be apologizing to the US for the aggressive action on the part of their pilot, as well as the deliberate hostage taking the communists in Bejing effected. The solution to China, imo, is to play tough with the communists over Taiwan and the freedom of navigation through the S. China Sea, while continuing to encourage the economic reforms which will apply additional pressure on the CCP to implement political reforms. Any other solution would only be temporary and tantamount to the same appeasement which lead to Hitler's agression. I would love to see Taiwan reunify with China, but only if the Taiwanese people elect to do so, and if they are guaranteed the same political representation on the mainland that they have fought for over the past decades.
