I don't agree. Societies have the right to live the way they want to. We allow abortion in this country which is mass murder to many people. Some people on SI would be happy to tell you that our holocaust of the unborn is worse than Hitler's. Are they right? Are they wrong? They have their own opinion. I prefer that we have the right to abortion. You want everyone everywhere to do what is "right" in your opinion. People don't need an "excuse" or a "defense" for doing what is acceptable in their society. I believe in freedom worldwide- not just the freedom to be exactly like me, but the freedom to be different than me (that's the only kind of freedom that really means anything, imo).

When your whole society is turning in a certain way it takes remarkable
individualists to resist. People who identify with groups and people who have a high
need to belong to groups are simply not going to have the tools to stand apart
from the group.

"And that should not be accepted as an excuse at the time or a defense later."

Okay.

Tell us exactly what you are doing to stop our government's embargo of food and medicines to everyday Iraquis who are doing us no harm at all, but are dying because we are stopping food and medicines from reaching them.

Tell me what you are doing to overcome your embargo of Cuba.

Inaction can be as damning as action. It's easy to say that the common German should have stopped the concentration camps. But it's not so easy, when your government is commmitting wrongs, to stand up and do something about them.

Or maybe we're wrong. Maybe you are acting to prevent these and many other evils of our government?
