I think it is fine to have women's studies, and black studies, as long as it is fine to have Caucasian studies, and Asian studies (which it is), so I do not think that is a concern at all. Let the market place and the individuals involved in the teaching and studying decide. We should be able to study whatever we want, be prohibited from studying nothing, and be compelled to study nothing (in college) and prohibit no one else from studying whatever they want. JMO.

In high school it is necessary to have core curriculum. IMO this should be representative of all cultures with an eye to impact. I don't happen to agree with over estimating the importance of culturally diverse representative figures just to assure a diverse picture of HIStory. This country was founded by white men (who used white women to perpetuate white men) somewhat on the backs of black men and women, who while important, had the same historical importance to the whites who used them, as animals. We cannot therefore expect blacks to be represented in the same way whites are in HISstory, and to try to force history to notice them as leaders and writers is to bend history away from the obvious inequitable over representation of white men. Let us learn about the white men who wanted everything for themselves. Let us see their ugly history. And let us hope a more diverse and less sexist society will leave a more positive hisandherstory.
