The 1GHz Tbird is rated at 49W typ at 1.75V. Using W prop-to V&#178, we get just over 31W for the same Tbird operated at 1.4V. Subtract 20% and you get roughly 25W.

Hopefully, the desktop version of the Palomino will not require the full 1.75V. If AMD can manage to launch it at 1.6V, that would reduce the power consumption another 20% (but would also contribute to a slowing of the transistor switching speed).
