JDN,

The national debt is measured in dollars. $6 trillion to be exact.

Giving an $800 billion tax break to millionaires while we are paying almost $1 billion a day in interest on the debt, is ridiculous. If we took that same money and paid down the debt, it would reduce Government spending by $50 billion (interest) a year, allowing for further acceleration of debt repayment.

If Bush dropped his tax cut completely and used the money to pay off the debt, we could reduce Government spending by $300 billion (interest) per year.

What could possibly be more conservative?
