Weren't they P2s like Celeron 300s? Besides, I have never seen them. Were they ever used? Besides, if you go by that method, Z80 has gone from 2.5MHz to 50MHz IIRC. That is 20x but from mainstream to embedded is going a bit too far. I though we were talking mainstream or desktop only. Also does it show that the new cores that were supposed to take over from them are not up to par? P3 was supposed to be end of the line but, Itanium was very late and not much of an improvement. P4 was supposed to be not needed, then became the end of the line, and finally the bread and butter part. It may be good enough to be EOL but, has some major faults for a bread and butter part. They need to be fixed.
