I think some of you are letting your Ampex vision of glory interfere with sound reasoning.

In the letter Ed says that they are trying to sell the data unit but he blames markrt conditions for the failure to do so. Perhaps as usual Ed overestimates the value of the storage unit and the interested parties are willing to wait him out knowing that Ed badly needs the infusion of cash the sale will generate. Ed would be better served if he took a fair offer rather than wait to see if anyone is willing to over pay. As time goes by the value of the unit is decresing not increasing.

Plus he sates that the ITG technology has the ability to save money and increase performance of streaming video. We know that to be true. And yet he has no interest is licencing this technology. If streaming video is to become a more popular concept everyone must improve performance. Ampex must consider trying to make maney thru ITG and not just use it to enhance it's own content.Ampex has no real compelling content that will allow it to survive on ad sales alone. License the technology and use the money to make furthur improvements and produce more videos that will garner a bigger audience.
