float me a double from here and i'm outta the rat race; i'd rather deal w/this thread than some patients,administrators,surgeons,hassles etc.lol. and i have zero debt.

yes, i agree...
why should bright young into the medical profession that takes 11-15 after high school to finish training then work hard hours and suffer huge debt loads when this same bright mind could become a wall street analyst or computer geek and make same amount of money in less time with less debt and less malpractice hassles and shorter work weeks?

Saw an article on HMO overheads: one co. in minnesota near 50% last year, prompting atorney general to investigate.
But the general public will forever think that doctors make too much $, despite the fact that the real salaries of primary care doctors have declined substantially when adjusted for inflation over the past 20 years
