Saturn,

Intel has had constant competition for 30 plus years. Yet by constantly spending large sums of money on R & D and leading edge FABS, they have consistently been one of the most profitable enterprises on the planet. Intel is a master at executing this strategy, while others like AMD can only look upon Intel's consistent profits with envy.

Intel has good fabs. Just as good as AMD's. Their product planning has been a disaster of late. P4 should have killed AMD, but they just plain screwed up with some very poor microarchitectural decisions.

Intel Thread,

Maui created a new SI thread to discuss microprocessor industry trends, leaving behind the discussion of the relative merits of each company.

AMD and Intel investors all make money in up cycles, we all lose in down cycles. Maybe by pooling the considerable knowledge on the AMD and Intel threads it could help us make profitable investment decisions in the industry, regardless of which company we invest in.

Leave the animosity and bias behind, give it a try.
