God I hope this story is true and the shortages continue past May. You can't have a price war if one side has no product and the fear of a price war has been keeping AMD's share price in check.

I was getting ready to sell AMD @31.90. I have changed that order based on the link and the last up tick sale of 36,400 sh. I think AMD will see $34 today.

Peter, this is somewhat in contrast to pricewatch, where the 1.7ghz P4 continues its orderly drift down to the q1000 price. Now at $379, only $27 above the official $352. The 1.5 parts at $279 are similarly less than $30 above the new q1000 price.

Of course, the pricewatch parts are all grey market, which perhaps indicates something else going on, like, er, excess supplies at the OEMs? Curiouser and curiouser, as they say.
