Thread- MP4 already here? CNBC is having conversation with guest commentator downloading illegal copy of movie in MP4 format?? Wow. If MP4 turns out to be real and stable, should be interesting to watch how this may drive broadband. Napster and MP3 music brought a lot of networks to their knees. If MP4 is for real, then wonder if it's video capabilities will once again bring network to their knees? It's about time Hollywood(MPAA) comes to grips that they can't keep STRANGLEHOLD on content distribution forever. RIAA did beat the hell out of Napster, but maybe that will only spur peer-peer networks to grow? -MikeM(From Florida)

Hi, Mike - I was trying to keep my comments general, in order to avoid advocacy of a particular stock. However, as regards the UK (which you may or may not regard as part of Europe) I refer you to the following post by geworth...

Message 15732344

60% of the UK is no small potatoes.

Again, trying to avoid advocacy, the announced intentions of Netcom (now Tele2) in Europe are to insert OFDM-based BBFWA into the following countries: Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and the Czech Republic. In fairness, I should add that product is shipping...not planned, not contemplated, not envisioned, not optimistically forecast...

Confirm here...

wi-lan.com

This is in addition to systems by Telia, and SkyberNet.

I am aware of competitive initiatives, also advancing to the wire. This represents the beginnings of such networks, and typically, they are invested in by innovators. While cynics may perceive this as "fluff", I do not.

Best regards,

Jim
