INTERESTING theory there: Economic success is proportional to honesty. I believe there are some anomalous, outlying points such as the Japanese, but it does appear to have much validity.

will, I would not use the word honesty. But I agree dishonesty has costs. I would use the word, no the phase, efficient information distribution. The economy is a massive interaction of self serving special interest. The more one knows of costs and demands and the vagaries of both, on can schedule better getting a better and even use or more efficient use of all resources. Thus reducing cost and thus chose profit or market share and invest to increase as makes the most sense.

The US has by scale the most technically integrated economy and again based on the scale is becoming more technically integrated. More efficient and thus growing. The American way lends itself naturally to this. The scale of the US economy can support some level of stupid socialism and not be dragged down. In other parts of the world the nature of the society is a big drag on knowing how to create wealth for all.

So to me the first order of maximum performance is having all the facts as timely as possible. The next is to have a society that understands what the facts mean. But in a free open society those those who know the facts get rich and those who don't accept bribes from the Rich to get rich.
