We have just spent a number of posts considering the question or whether or not the SOC removed billions of dollars out of the service of the poor; and you suggest the plan is to use the money as a reserve in case of a funding shortfall? A reserve for WHAT?? Where did you hear this?

My reply occured after many of your posts on this subject but it was a reply to a post that occured before you provided more detail. Also most of the posts on this subject where talking about millions of dollars not billions. If the SOC has billions stocked away in some bank account they would have to be pretty good money launderers.

I think that misappropriating funds, if the testimony of the SOC staff is indeed trustworthy, is more than sufficient evidence of fraud. I think perhaps you might understand this a little better with an analogy. If you gave me a cheque
for a million dollars to build a hostel for the poor, and if I gave you a receipt indicating that particular usage of the money, but instead I put the cheque in a Vatican bank account--I think you would be more than a little upset if you found out.

If I gave you a check I wouldn't be surprised if you put in in a bank account. I would of course expect you to actually follow through with what you said you would do at some point. If I gave you a large check not for a specific purpose but to more generally support your helping the less fortunate, I would not nessiarily expect you to spend it right away. If your funds keep accumilating faster then you spend them on charity I might figure you don't really need continueing support from me, but it wouldn't necessarily be a sign that you misappropriated the funds.
