Scott. have you ever worked with "top MBA students"? the ones i worked with performed no better than most successful farmers. only a few, very few, shined above all others. i think more successful managers are born; less are bred. besides, there are more MBAs to go around today than last year. take your pick. this is goofy talk today

Hi, Scott. Re: Dell and the MBA's... According to Time magazine, Cisco recruited, hired, and fired a new bunch all within six months, thereby "giving them a taste of Internet time." However, they got three month's severance pay without ever doing a day's work. Also, the other side of the coin is whether you should be laying off people who already work for you, while at the same time bringing in new MBAs through the revolving door. Seems kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't, especially when you are under pressure to reduce costs. Record heat-wave here in Maine today. My two Goldens are looking all over the house for the coolest spot to hang out. Hope all is well with you. JC
