AMAT, NVLS & LMRC all downgraded today from MKT PEFORM to UNDERPERFORM. LMRC provides plasma etchers used to remove residual slurries after the CMP process... CCMP hmmmm.

Dave, suddenly in the past few days, you begin to hear and see more negative bias on the economy. But we won't hear those words from CNBC until Naz has dropped below the psychological 2k mark. The technology conferences at HQ and ML are good forums for companies to provide early updates of current quarter. From what I gathered, the message is no pickup until Q4 at the earliest (PMCS, NVLS etc..), some say there's just no visibility (JNPR and BRCM). On the other hand, Maria B. reported last night there was nothing negative at all from the conferences and therefore there wouldn't be any more bad news. I'm confused, must ask Paul A to sort it out.
