Doug, I think that your assessment corresponds quite well with my own long term view of a multi year "trading range" market. A big range, yet no resumption soon of the secular bull.

I wonder when Bobby is going to join me back on the "dark side" of the force (g). Come on Bobby, you still have that "bear suit", don't you?

I haven't seen a discussion of their costs anywhere. I do know that the French Ariane rockets have had an amazingly good record of reliability, and that's something that India will have to address to really "join the club".

The new stream of lower cost photonic elements you mention will be good for penetrating the last mile, that alone will help shake out the weaker companies and eventually strengthen the ones with solid long range plans. The excess of dark fiber is probably a blessing in disguise.
