I think it's more than likely that Lindsay's real purpose is to generate support for Bush's proposed tax cut. The government's running a surplus, the taxpayer's running a deficit. Helloooo?

Lindsey has made such intelligent comments in the past. In fact, he once spoke at a bear conference (perhaps James Grant's?). That's why I was surprised to see him get a prominent role in the White House.
