Well alot of the good 'ol time religions are about to get zapped by the light today... This kind of personal God/Philosophy theology really gets many Christian and Islamic fundamentalists going , and blows away their religious circuits .... It is one thing to have deep faith , but accompanied also by deep personal revelation then one begins to see how the miracle of the Great Experience of Life , has zapped us all , and wasn't just revealed by a Rabbai in Jerusalem 2000 years ago, or by a merchant of Baghdad in the deserts on the way to Mecca. As I was posting to Neocon over on another thread how narrow and degrding these interpretations and descriptions were of Buddhism and Hinduism in this outdated Catholic Site here: newadvent.org dating back to 1907 ! But that is exactly the point . For now we know so much more , and what scholarship just 100years ago that satisfied them as proof of their superiority , has now been completely ZAPPED out of the water for good . It doesn't detract from their own belief in Jesus or the set of teachings ascribed to him. But it does give rise to their having to recognize once and for all , that theirs is and was not ever the only one true vision and example of the ultimate supreme reality. Now 100years later , in the information age we have greater understanding of the origins of beliefs of the other 1/2 of the world . We have also a tremendous amount more of knowledge of ourselves down to the atoms and molecules. I will always find it disconcerting to hear those that always cry : "There is no God but Allah" or "Mohammed is the last true prohpet of God" or "Jesus is the one true and only Son of the Father" and " only in our Bible is the word of God written" Lo and behold , they are seeing almost everyone of their own most deeply cherished beliefs ,Prophets Saviors , were already being worshipped and acknowledged long before in that other 1/2 of the world . With as much or more splendor and richness and deep understanding. So the information age has zapped alot of cherished citadels down to their foundations , and a whole new approach to scholarshiop and history must begin. As well as the opening up of an entire new universe of tolerance. I wouldn't try to over~idealize Mother India , or the Buddhist Asia , but I would suggest to those who think it is their mission to go out and teach their truths to first be aware , that they are trying to teach the ones who were already the authors and enrichers of their own beliefs. Hinduism and Buddhism are old , and Christianity and Islam just babies by comparison. And to the Hindu , there is even a greater religion/Truth older than theirs , which gets right down to the universal Eternal truth problem . They worked this out probably centuries before Moses... Our calendar in the West starts 2000yrs ago, in the East they are up somewhere near 4000. It would just be so much easier for the Holy See in Rome if India, Hinduism and Krishna would just disappear ...but that just isn't in the cards this go around .
