Dave,

The Rambus patents I was familiar with looked like garbage. The multiplexed bus and programmable latency register patents look to be little more than trivial variations on pre-existing technology.

Rambus analysis, 2X16d vs 4i Bank architecture.

Interesting in that it claims a controller supporting both types is feasible, to the extent that types can even be mixed on the bus. Maybe the next gen. P4 RDRAM chipset from Intel. (Forecast for 2002).
