I am also puzzled by the movement of the thread on the hot list. If your presumption is correct, one could conclude that someone has lost their most favored nation status.

The thread is now off the hot list. Another idea is that perhaps the hot list is resetting ever 12 hours as this seemed to happen around 12 Noon.
