Hi Johnny Q! I went short energy last Monday. Mr. Market told me to. I was out of all my shorts by Thursday, again courtesy of Mr. Market. Friday I was back in, but this time long, and depending on what the open does, will determine whether I get back out or add to my long positions.

I'm strictly looking short term here. Maybe 3-4 days max. Might only last 20 minutes, I'll let Mr. Market tell me. He and I are close personal friends.

In a sideways trading market, we must put our leadership skills on the back burner. At times like this it is more important to be a good follower. Mr. Market is always right, so it behooves me to open my mind and pay attention. I'll follow his lead!

The first thirty minutes of trading should tell me what to do. It is then where I will adjust, adapt and attack.

Hello JPQ,

Got your short list ready?

In less than 11 hours it will be time to pop some popcorn and settle in for an interesting day of entertainment. Maybe add a few Milk Duds to give a quick burst of energy on top a double latte grande.

Here goes. After careful consideration the short winners in OS land fall into two categories, first we have the most promising looking hot money big cap candidates:

HAL, WFT, CAM, BJS and SII,

Next we have a few laggards to finish off the OS short list:

NR, PHEL, OII and CLB.

In the next category we have the high flying E & P candidates, and the winners are:

KWK, CID, MHR, APC, PXD, PLX, OIL, BR, POG, EOG and PENG.

It's almost time to place your bets ladies and gentlemen.

JPQ, since the last five out of six days were down days, I feel like I'm giving you a little handy cap here? To be fair, lets measure the entire week on the above stocks to determine the winner?

Whatdoyathink?

PS: This is almost as much fun as it was back in 1998, only in reverse. Kinda like shooting fish in a barrel isn't it?
