Kash, the Ken Popovich, eWEEK article today is late. Identical message articles came out last week about the SVGI machine delay possibly affecting Intel. They were all over this thread. Intel responded somewhat, as the article you cited repeats:

Declining to comment on the reported delay, Intel officials were confident last week about shipping the next chips on time. "We're on track to begin shipping products this year on 0.13 micron," said Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy. Nevertheless, sources said the delay has forced Intel to sign a multimillion-dollar licensing agreement to use an alternative chip-making solution from Numerical Technologies Inc. (NasdaqNM:NMTC - news), in San Jose, Calif. Called phase-shift mask technology, it will enable Intel to use 0.18-micron machines to make 0.13-micron parts.

So, do you have other information that warrants your Intels 0.13 ramp seems in disarry. comment?

Tony

Kash,

<Intels 0.13 ramp seems in disarry.>

I am surprised this is news to you! The SVGI slip was a pretty high profile one. That's part of the reason I am still somewhat bullish about AMD's laptop story.

<I just covered my AMD short for a $80K loss.

Ouch!!!>

Sorry to hear that. Did you consider writing calls instead? I am talking advantage of the volatility by writing options on my position pretty aggressively.

I think there is a lot of money to be made by selling covered calls (or naked puts if there is no underlying position) on this stock for the next couple of years.

Chuck
