I understand that WinMe has a crippled DOS mode. DI runs in DOS mode. This looks like an obstacle. Maybe someone running DI with WinMe will join the discussion.

According to PowerQuest support:

Since DOS does not recognize NTFS partitions, and since Drive Image must run from DOS, it is not possible to create an image file on an NTFS partition using Drive Image
