There's something required beyond making sure the trial is fair, because the person you are representing wants more than anything on earth to be found not guilty, and you are his agent. You have to be zealous, within the bounds of the law.

Trust me, the prosecution is the one with the easy job. Don Lloyd has a sizeable collection of news reports of cases of innocent people who have plead guilty in order to benefit from a plea bargain.

As for me, unless my client tells me he did it, I have no way of actually knowing whether he is guilty or not. And you know what? They all say they are innocent.
