Absolutely makes sense and very well put, IMO.

Simple (may be oversimplified) example: in heyday of Internet craze it was enough for some $2 stock get an announcement out about opening online store on YAHOO and hundreds of traders punched their buy buttons running poor creature with 10K volume to $6 in a few minutes. "Depth of confirmation" needed was so shallow that noone even paid any attention to the fact that it cost $200 to open the store in 15 minutes.
Today no news reader would even bother to click on header to read the text :)
