It's disgraceful and CNBC should be ashamed of itself. I don't remember this kind of sloppy reporting on FNN. It's time for CNBC (both in the USA and UK) to shape up or ship out.....

Joe Kernan ALSO was making a joke. I watched that segment.

They were joking about how CNBC catches so much crap for not mentioning when gold makes move.

Joe Kernan joked about how it has declined since reaching $800/ounce, and it doesn't pay a dividend.

And that joke is substantiated by the fact that, if anything, the USD is at risk of grower stronger as a result of recessionary pressures (safe haven mentality) than decline against gold.

The USD is the first safe haven of choice. If it fails, THEN GOLD WILL BE THE PLAY OF THE DAY, or the value "storehouse" of last resort. Actually, more appropriately, it will represent a retreat to the previous financial gold-based system.

Don't take this all so personally. It destroys your credibility when making your argument.
