Will you also respond to CNBC reinventing history? How about the infamous line - Gold prices straight down for 20 years?

I stand corrected on this one Ted, because you improved my memory by mentioning Tex Antoine who was my favorite weather person of all time, who I first watched on NBC in the 1960's as a kid! Used to love the way he would draw in the cold and warm fronts, high and low pressure centers, etc, and was very unhappy when he left ABC. (because of pressure placed on him by an improper comment he made about something on the air, or at least that is the rumor we heard in Jersey at the time) Yes, Roger Grimsby started joking around on ABC long before Tom Snyder came on board! Bill Beutel played the straight man and was the more serious co-anchor as I remember it..... By the way Ted, I do think your humor is funny and on target a good percentage of the time, so it still flies with me too, just as long as it is not overdone! LOL! In fact, sometimes you have that Jerry Lewis quality and style about you, and I do mean that as a compliment. Keep up the mostly good work.

Well, I certainly hope the EU goal of the future of
public service TV in europe will keep "happy talk" and
"news" apart, where they belong.

btw, 75% of finns are very satisfied with the finnish
obligatory license funded channel.

According to an english national hero (in finland)
the best way (for him) to fall asleep in less than 10 minutes.

According to the same man "happy news" is mainly needed
when the general pain is too frustrating to cope with.
(my comment on CNBC-UK, although that seem to have
stepped over the threshold to the social joy of harassing
"them", just like kids still learning to become adults)

PS. But bless Brian Lamb and CSPAN, the master of not
interrupting nor cracking too obvious jokes.

PPS The only CSPAN program I wanted a copy, video tape
of was the corrected ABC interview with Rafsanjani, a
true classic on edited propaganda, but due to copyright
issues CSPAN could not sell it.
(sorry, had to get that out of my system)
