I was referring to their core logic fabrication process. Looking at that article, that appears to be a niche technology for a communications chip. If you can show me examples where Intel has bought significant parts of a core logic process and incorporated it into their microprocessor manufacturing, then you have a case.

Didn't they just license the phase shift technology for their core logic fabrication processes?? That could have been developed in house. It wasn't. You are really applying your theory very selectively. Also, you call Silicon Germanium Bipolar and Silicon Germanium BiCMOS technologies a niche? I thought Intel was serious about getting into the communications area.
