Outlook calendaring on the feature side is head and shoulders above anything on the market - the down side is keeping it running and then keeping it fast. Hopefully a deeper broader Itanium server box can address the resource deficiencies of the MSFT email/calendaring products.

Exchange deployments that I see are typically disk-limited, not CPU-limited.

There's a tendency to say "I need 50GB of storage, so I'll just throw a few big drives in a RAID 5 array and be done with it". As someone pointed out earlier, Exchange is a database - give it plenty of spindles intelligently laid out and it screams.
