RE:<Hm, maybe Niceguy has a point here. If Tualatin is a low volume product because the necessary components for 0.13µ production are partially delayed Athlon 4 will indeed be king of the hill. Then we might see BIG corporate mobile wins for AMD in the near future.>

Peter,

But in that case Dell still wouldn't need A4 until all the other oems started using it so why single Dell out and mention them as needing A4 to maintain corporate credibility. What you are saying is that if Intel has a worst case equipment catastrophe in the offing, and if in the event of that catastrophe they cannot supply competetive product, and if instead of maintaining the status quo and being conservative every oem moves immediately to A4 in their product lines and if corporate buyers are receptive to that change and buy them in large numbers then Dell will need them too and Niceguy's statement has some merit. Now can you see why I find it so hilarious?

I think the fact that Intel is shortly releasing non-Tualatin P3's at 1.13 (and 1.20) GHz is proof that the Tualatin is delayed. It would make NO sense to release a 0.18 Coppermine 1.13 MHz chip if Tualatin is a month away.

So, are these new 1.13 and 1.20 chips Tualatin's or not? (I assumed NOT, but may be wrong.)

Perhaps Intel will have just enough Tualatins this year to meet Dell's demand. Dell may be maneuvering for an exclusive on Tualatin this year.
