It's not only absurd but it is truly my definition of insanity. Do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome then the one you are getting. We fill our prisons with people who are more a threat to themselves then anyone else and release people who are really bad to make room. Treat it as a medical problem rather then a legal one. Legalize and tax the crap out of it and remove the profit incentive for the gangs.

We made organized crime with prohibition and now we have made drug lords and gangs with our insane view of drugs IMO.

I agree with Jorj in that these toads sitting in DC numbing themselves with vodka martini's are in no position to yap about some guy that smokes when he gets home from work. I doubt everyone on earth is going to run right out and toke up just because it is legal the same way everyone isn't running around drunk. Approach it the way we have approached smoking and drunk driving seems a better way.

By outlawing the drug production <and prostitution and all that other stuff>, the govt is effectively helping create a stronger underworld....with rules over which it has no control...

Now I don't say it should be encouraged, but to deny its existance - well...thats kinda wrong and the govt gives up its right to intervene and lay the correct rules in how it will happen.....and happen it will...no matter what...
