I think everyone agrees McComas is anti Intel. But he is making very specific claims that I believe Intel must address in some way. I don't think Intel can get away with
touting the the performance of P4 while playing Quake 3 if during a normal play of the game, the processor is actually subject to clock throttling. I think even the less informed observer will have a problem with that one. And I think AMD will have a field day with it. Sanders said as much that they will optimize Palomino for Quake 3. Better to come out and explain exactly how it works and if and when it would come into play. For instance, without clock throttling, would the P4 fry if I played Quake 3? McComas's article would lead you to believe yes. Has Intel said anything about any of this stuff yet??
