So you cannot help being an arbiter of not only your own, but of other's, appropriate mental/emotional states? Does that mean you do not allow for cultural and temperamental differences- or that you acknowledge they exist but disapprove of the results? Or are cultural differences in inner states appropriate? I am very curious as to what level of uniformity you think would be appropriate in people, regarding their emotional reactions. I am quite curious about this. I expect people to be different from me, not the same, and I find that interesting. You seem to be coming at this completely differently- with a view that what is different from your conception of "appropriate" is not only bad, but universally bad (or any "right" thinking person would see it as bad). I may have misunderstood you, but that is what you seem to be saying.
