I suppose I was remiss in not being more specific. NEM and CSCO are both negatory in earnings. I, and many others believe that POG will rise. How is that different from CSCOites?

The difference between CSCO and the mining companies is that CSCO grew through the magic of pooling of interest accounting which was the ponzi scheme of the century. Buy companies with stock and pay as much as you want because the amount you pay over fair value never shows up on the books.

From what I know of the mining companies like ABX is that they earn money the old fashioned way, but thats not respected in the "new economy". The mining companies become extremely profitable at gold prices around $300+. The earnings will flow when POG gets there.

I think the dollar is going to do one last push here (up) and then that will be all she wrote.
