Actually, you might be surprised at who make up the regular irregulars of what I call the smoking brigade: Respiratory therapists, x-ray techs, a couple of physicians, a few administrators, a host of nurses, one or two of the helicopter crew, and other assorted medical personnel. We share the smoking atrium also with the patients. Not too great an idea, but that's another bunch of stories. The other night out there in the smoking atrium, I had a fascinating conversation with the regional donor/transplant coordinator.
