Jerome, on another thread some reported inability to find KREM shares to short. Maybe they were lucky.

OT *** went to the library and read 'Der Spiegel' [German news mag] with a cartoon of Bush as a cowboy on the cover. The article, written after the first 100 days, was not flattering. They said many European media are ridiculing our president. Should we nuke 'em? Here's that cover spiegel.de

There is a semi-equip index:

S&P EQUIP SEMI (REU:^SPTKSM)

However, it is sort of a forgotten index, even apparently by S&P. Yahoo cannot provide long term graphs of the ratio, and sometimes it jumps or drops in ways that cannot be based on the underlying stocks. I cannot tell if it is weighted, or what stocks are in it. However, my impression is that it is weighted, because it usually is fairly close to AMAT in daily percentage moves.
