I don't really understand the (Palm) excitement, Either.
Last i checked you could buy a 350 dollar

A Few applications and a small screen.
I always had the feeling i was running a 286 with a GUI.

Didn't really float my boat.

But then Again,,,dudes make fun of me for Coding through a Telnet Session...And i thought everybody did that... :0)

Studies show PALM users 40% use replacing desktop use. This is not a toy, its the future, ready or not. As PALMs become more powerful, desktop and laptop use will drop more than 40%, probably to about 10%, which is about 2-3x the use of SERVER MAINFRAMES, the point being, very few staff will be CHAINED to the desktop and laptops, especially when laptops can do the "briefcase trick" and synchronize the PALM and update e-mail, and the like. Laptops may end up as portable mini-network-servers. Eventually PALM devices will just do that as well once the world is totally wired for WIRELESS EVERYWHERE ANYWHERE EVERYTHING ANYTHING....ALL THINGS PALM. I predict PALM will be on a rollercoaster, because many ANALyst don't get it yet, but it will exceed its 52 week highs, I'll even state that I'll now hold and buy all the way to $70 and beyond. I may just keep this one for life, its like knowing Microsoft in the 80s or IBM in the 60s would be go go stocks, or CSCO in the 90s. USB WARBURG has it right, PALM is a STRONG BUY the rest are all betting wrong, and I think its sour grapes or late penguism, late ANALysts as usual, on the old Yankowski news about flat earnings, and bluntly, Mr. Y is wrong, has no visibility because he does not look, and seems to me to be a poor mediocre manager, unable to runa company on his own away from the oversight of 3Com, maybe he wants to lower the expectations so his mediocre managers can easily beat estimates again. We need to expect more from him or replace him. I would not rule out a Dubinsky lead and planned MERGER with HANDspring. I would vote yes. Thank God the product sells itself, and PALM and the PALM OS will continue to dominate all market spaces. USERS for more CRITICAL MASS is more VALUABLE than getting top price for all inventory units. FUTURE EARNINGS that is where it is at, and on that, I am confident that PALM will execute and OUTPERFORM on all accounts.
I am,
Truly your$,
